Hope for the Journey

Our Mission
We encourage and mentor individuals, couples and families that they may experience God's hope, wisdom and healing.
We focus on relationships: with God and each other. We provide counseling, team-teaching, speaking, and coaching for churches. We also teach pastors and leaders about biblical marriage, families and relationships.

We provide Christian counseling for individual and relationship issues, such as depression, anxiety, co-dependency, spiritual direction, men’s and women’s issues, premarital counseling and more.  Our philosophy and practice integrates psychology and theology.  We use a biblical cognitive-behavioral approach.  We offer help for the whole person: body, mind, soul and spirit.

We provide team-teaching about marriage, parenting, and pre-marital preparation.
Jay speaks on the topics of men and their emotions; men and sex; fatherhood; healthy relationships and biblical topics.
Ingrid speaks on the topics of Intimacy with God; Disappointment with God; Women’s Issues:  The feminine heart; friendships; mothering.

Jay performs personalized wedding ceremonies to reflect your desires, vows and relationship.  He also requires premarital counseling and one follow up marriage session counseling.

Our Values
  • We believe that the best and most important part of life is relationships: with God and each other. Especially those relationships closest to us: our spouse, child(ren), parents, and friends.
  • We want to live and encourage others to live by God’s greatest commandment of loving Him and loving others.
  • Life is a journey of relationships.  We are all in process and at different places.
  • We all need help and encouragement in relating to God in an intimate and real way.  We need help in relating to others with realistic expectations and authenticity.
  • We encourage others to have fun and enjoy God and people, to laugh and share experiences and memories.

Our Core Beliefs

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts and is our guide for daily living.
  • We believe that the one living and true God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, and that He died on the cross for our sins and rose on the third day.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and that He empowers us for daily living.
  • We believe that people are created by God in His image, but we have separated ourselves from God and need His saving grace.
  • We believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace and we receive this gift of eternal life when we trust Jesus Christ as our Savior from sin.
  • We believe that the church is the body of Christ and that God has called believers to gather together in local church families.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ will come again and reign eternally.
